No Contest

No Contest Any poker online player’s goal is to amass as many chips as possible, both in tournaments and cash games. The more poker chips you have in front of you, the more threatening you become as a player. The big stack at the table can often push other players around. To win lots of chips, two things have to happen. One, you do have to get lucky once in awhile and win a big pot. No one really has any control over that except to look for lucky opportunities. The other more reliable way to rake in chips is through aggressive betting. Often a big bet will win a pot with no contest. These are often the sweetest pots you can win. Everyone concedes to your bet, and you rake in the pot without a fight. Aggression is the key factor in achieving these types of wins, and a big chip stack is the most useful tool for executing this type of play. How can you increase your uncontested online poker pot win rate? First of all, be tuned into how tight the table is playing and which players to your left are willing to lay down their hands to bets. Another way to scoop up uncontested pots is to bet when the flop produces raggy cards that probably missed the other players’ hands, and it is checked to you in late position. For instance a rainbow flop of 2-6-9 is unlikely to help anyone. Even if someone hits a pair of nines, they may still be reluctant to call a big bet. Aggressive betting from early position also can work as a pot scooper when there are tight players behind you. Keep in mind that when there are loose players at the table, you won’t see many uncontested pots.
