Mobile Users Less Satisfied with Service Than Fixed Line Broadband Users

Mobile broadband users are only about 80 per cent satisfied with their connections compared to their fixed line counterparts, according to a survey conducted by Nokia Siemens.

The study, which comprised more than 11,000 interviews across 15 countries around the globe, found that despite the increasing craze for mobile broadband service (see mobile broadband free laptop deals), the network operators have not been able to provide corresponding customer satisfaction. This is evident from the fact that while 92 per cent of the customers use mobiles at least once in a month for web browsing, a majority of them have complains about the slow load time.

Mobile broadband customers are 22 per cent less satisfied than the fixed lines users because of poor quality of streamed content. Even other aspects like unstable connection, low download speed and the long time required for loading web pages reflect significantly lower satisfaction levels among mobile broadband users than the fixed line users.

When the market of mobile broadband is growing at such a rapid pace, the operators will have to make the next move taking into account the findings of this study, said Jrgen Walter, head of Business Solutions at Nokia Siemens Networks. Walter added that the growing number of smartphone users makes it important for the mobile broadband operators to improve upon their service.
